PSDS is a voluntary group whose principal goal is to provide support for children with Down Syndrome and their families, for new and existing parents. We meet regularly as families to share our experiences and provide a network of support, friendship, advice and expertise. This benefits not only our children with Down Syndrome, but also their siblings, ourselves as parents and all family members. Like any parents, we share a common aim - for all our children to grow up in a supportive, enjoyable environment which helps them to be happy, confident and independent individuals. For our children with Down Syndrome we provide additional support, particularly in the areas of speech and language therapy, education and physical development. Our aim is for our children to have access to the opportunities available to all others. Down Syndrome is part of who our children are not what they are.
